The United Nations Information Service\’s Graduate Study Programme provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the United Nations system through first-hand observation and study. The Graduate Study Programme is held at the United Nations Office at Geneva each year during the first three weeks of July.

The United Nations Information Service\’s Graduate Study Programme provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the United Nations system through first-hand observation and study. The Graduate Study Programme is held at the United Nations Office at Geneva each year during the first three weeks of July.

45th Graduate Study Programme
In July 2007, the Information Service of the United Nations Office at Geneva will conduct a programme at the Palais des Nations for a select group of graduate students. The theme for the 45th Graduate Study Programme will be: ‚The UN: United for Peace, Development and Human Rights‘. The programme will focus on the role the UN plays or can play in seeking multilateral solutions to global issues, such as those mentioned in this year\’s theme.

Programme: 2-20 July 2007
The programme will consist of an intensive three-week series of lectures and panel discussions focusing on United Nations activities. Participants will also meet in working groups to formulate conclusions and proposals of their own. A final document will be drafted on the basis of the working groups\‘ discussions.

Applications
The graduate students invited to attend this Study Programme will be selected on the basis of their scholastic experience and motivation, with due regard to equitable geographical distribution. Candidates must be between 23-35 years of age. Completed applications, together with all supporting documentation, must be sent to the Programme Coordinator no later than 20 April 2007, and must include the endorsement of the candidate\’s graduate institution or a governmental authority. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Application forms can be obtained from this website, from Permanent Missions to the United Nations, from United Nations Information Centres and Services, or from United Nations Development Programme Offices. Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance no later than mid-May 2007.
